Negotiation-Style Recommender Based on Computational Ecology in Open Negotiation Environments.
The system described herein represents the first example of a recommender system in digital ecosystems where agents negotiate services on behalf of small companies. The small companies compete not only with price or quality, but with a wider service-by-service composition by subcontracting with other companies. The final result of these offerings depends on negotiations at the scale of millions of small companies. This scale requires new platforms for supporting digital business ecosystems, as well as related services like open-id, trust management, monitors and recommenders. This is done in the Open Negotiation Environment (ONE), which is an open-source platform that allows agents, on behalf of small companies, to negotiate and use the ecosystem services, and enables the development of new agent technologies. The methods and tools of cyber engineering are necessary to build up Open Negotiation Environments that are stable, a basic condition for predictable business and reliable business environments. Aiming to build stable digital business ecosystems by means of improved collective intelligence, we introduce a model of negotiation style dynamics from the point of view of computational ecology. This model inspires an ecosystem monitor as well as a novel negotiation style recommender. The ecosystem monitor provides hints to the negotiation style recommender to achieve greater stability of an open negotiation environment in a digital business ecosystem. The greater stability provides the small companies with higher predictability, and therefore better business results. The negotiation style recommender is implemented with a simulated annealing algorithm at a constant temperature, and its impact is shown by applying it to a real case of an open negotiation environment populated by Italian companies.Fil: De La Rosa, Josep Lluis.
// ABSTRACT: In agriculture, the water crisis, lack of manpower, loss of safety, and little control of
pests leads to various crop damage in a country, such as a decrease in the quality
and innocuousness of the fruits, low yields per hectare and decreases in the
number of exports. This research is based on the agronomic concept of precision
agriculture; therefore, technological solutions are proposed to the problems
mentioned for representative crops of small and medium farmers in the Maule
Region, through an adoption plan that contains costs, benefits and sources of
financing. To do this, a qualitative approach was used, collecting data from
interviews with experts from Talca University (Faculty of Agronomy), as well as
regional reports from government institutions. With through Design thinking
method, we were able to diagnose the current situation, analyze technological
alternatives and establish the adoption plan. A total of 12 technologies of national
and international origin were analyzed with their respective requirements, costs
and benefits of implementation and were divided into the 3 characterized
scenarios. In addition, a total of 20 financing sources that meet the requirements to
implement each technology were recorded and were segmented by type of
financial instrument. This research concluded that the proposed technologies solve
more than one problem and that they can not only be considered for the mentioned
crops, but also for Berries in general, furthermore, one technology can be acquired
after another without having the need to separate them and they can be combined
according to the farmer needs. Finally, there are many sources of financing, but in order to have more access to them, it is advisable to adopt the technologies separately, since the cost is not so high
Grid fast path finding using 2k neighborhood
Tesis (Magíster en Ciencias de la Computación)Moving from a place and reaching a goal through a path can be tedious, especially when
you are looking for efficiency. People, robots or even entities in video games, use Path
Planning, which will deliver a sequence of actions to achieve their goal.
The representation of this worlds is made through regular grids, where exist an Agent
with the ability to move through this discreet world. Usually the co connectivity allow
4 or 8 movement for an Agent in each position, which can be really limited to find a
better path, because the range of motion. One solution for this is a 2
k neighborhood,
with the ability of get a bigger range of motion as the k is increased for k ≥ 2.
In this thesis we use a 2
k neighborhoodapproaches to extend the range of motion
in the algorithms Sub Goal Graph and to a different approach of Jump Point Search.
The first, Sub Goal Graph look for all corner or sub goal in the map, to create a graph
with only the subgoal to find a solution, with a better range of motion the solution
will be more realistic. The second one is and approach of Jump Point Search but using
a Canonical search and saving the best candidate to the next search. Both of the
algorithms are based in A* Search.
The objective is to measure the performance of the Sub Goal Graph and Jump Point
Search algorithms, with the new connectivity implemented, with respect ANYA an any
angle planner and Sub2-Theta*. Measuring the path cost delivered and the execution
time, as a comparison.
The planner based in sub goals with a 2
k neighborhoodgot optimal path faster than
ANYA, having a margin of sub optimality of 0.0005%. While Jump Point Search has
an 0.19% of sub optimality and 25% quicker in some cases. Also all solution had an
improvement in performance and lower cost as the k is increased.
Fast and Almost Optimal Any-Angle Pathfinding Using the 2k Neighborhoods
Any-angle path finding on grids is an important problem with applications in autonomous robot navigation. In this paper, we show that a well-known pre-processing technique, namely subgoal graphs, originally proposed for (non any-angle) 8-connected grids, can be straightforwardly adapted to the 2k neighborhoods, a family of neighborhoods that allow an increasing number of movements (and angles) as k is increased. This observation yields a pathfinder that computes 2k-optimal paths very quickly. Compared to ANYA, an optimal true any-angle planner, over a variety of benchmarks, our planner is one order of magnitude faster while being less than 0.0005% suboptimal. Important to our planner's performance was the development of an iterative 2k heuristic, linear in k, which is also a contribution of this paper
Dissolution of Dynamic Electronic Institutions, a first approach: Relevant factors and causes
In the context of the digital business ecosystems, small organizations cooperate between them in order to achieve common goals or offer new services for expanding their markets. There are different approaches for these cooperation models such as virtual enterprises, virtual organizations or dynamic electronic institutions which in their lifecycle have in common a dissolution phase. However this phase has not been studied deeply in the current literature and it lacks formalization. In this paper a first approach for achieving and managing the dissolution phase is proposed, as well as a CBR process in order to support it in a multi-agent syste
